The Ruger AR-556 MPR is an enhanced AR rifle with a 16.10″ cold hammer forged, freefloated barrel, ergonomic M-Lok handguard, upgraded trigger and B5 Systems furniture. Beginning with the solid foundation of forged 7075-T6 aluminum upper and lower receivers, the AR-556 makes use of a shot-peened and proof-tested 9310 steel bolt, and 8620 steel bolt carrier for strength and durability. The inside diameter of the carrier and gas key are chrome plated to resist corrosion and the key is staked for longevity. A Carbine length gas system improves balance and reliability. The heart of the AR-556 is an accurate, medium contour, cold hammer-forged threaded barrel with 1:8″ twist and 5 grove rifling with M4 feed ramps and topped with a 1/2″-28 Ruger radial port muzzle brake. This optic ready rifle comes with a full length Picatinny rail to provide ample room for your choice of iron sights or optic. The 13.5″ Ruger freefloat handguard features M-Lok compatible accessory slots and has been docked in the center for improved grip access and reduced weight while maintaining Picatinny at the front and rear. Out back, a B5 Systems Bravo buttstock with an ergonomic angled cheek weld allows quick and consistent cheek placement to align your sight picture. An ergonomic B5 Systems Type P23 pistol grip provides a secure purchase with a steep angle to improve shooting speed while correcting for any tendency to drift into a “chicken-wing” arm placement. An enlarged trigger guard surrounds a Ruger Elite 452 AR-Trigger two-stage trigger with a smooth, crisp, 4.5 pound trigger pull. Other standard features include a brass deflector and dust cover. One (1) 30 round magazine included.
